XII National Sevika Sanghom Conference-2011

The XII National Savika Sanghom Conference hosted by St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church of Chicago was held from September 29th through October 2nd in Holiday Inn, Rolling Meadows, IL. The conference was inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Gee Varghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa, the Bishop of North America and Europe Diocese.

Dr. Elsy Mathew, the Diocesan Sevika Sangham Secretary, Rev. V. T. John, Rev. A. B. Binu and Rev. Sabu Thomas felicitated the conference on the Inaugural Ceremony.

Conference General Convener Mrs. Betsy Mathai welcomed all the leaders, guests, and participants. The Theme “Choice, is it Right? ” based on Luke: 10:42 was very relevant in today’s society. Keynote speaker Mrs. Sairah Joseph led the main sessions.

Rev. Abraham Thomas led the Bible study sessions. Clergy, Kochammas and Savika Sanghom representatives from different Parishes led devotional talks and group discussions. 250 delegates participated in the conference.

Cultural program, Talent night and Downtown Chicago sightseeing added attraction to the conference. Saturday evening was set apart for devotion and testimony. Many of the participants re-dedicated their lives to fulfill the responsibilities God has entrusted to them.

The conference ended on Sunday with Holy Communion celebrated by the Diocesan Savika Sanghom Vice president Rev. A.B. Binu. Rev Sabu Thomas, Vicar of the hosting Parish oversaw all the conference arrangements .The conference was a blessed and enriching experience for all who participated.
