The Bishop of Mumbai Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa, visited the St. Thomas School, Shinai on 31st May 2016.
The Gandhidham Parish Executive Committee members, Board members (Marthoma Educational and Service Trust) and the Principal of the School Mrs. Neelima Charan welcomed the Bishop. Thirumeni discussed about the School activities with the Vicar, MEST Vice-President, and the Principal. A combined meeting of Parish Executive committee members and Board members with Thirumeni was also held at the Multi-purpose hall of the School. On behalf of the combined committee, Mr. Thomas Kurien presented a bouquet to Thirumeni. The Vicar Rev. Arun George briefly explained the history of the school and invited Mr. Thomas Kurien to express his views and present status of the School.
Mr. Thomas Kurien, the Vice-President of MEST, also explained the history and present situation of the school. He also explained the immediate needs of the school and pointed out the non-availability of skilled teachers in this area. A beautiful power-point presentation to explain the present strength of the Staff and Children, infrastructure, land details, staff details, class room specifications etc. was shown.
During the message, Thirumeni appreciated our Church and Trust members for this initiative to build up a school.
Thirumeni said that a school is the best media to express our social responsibility for the development of the society. The meeting came to an end at 11.30 am with the prayer and benediction by the Thirumeni.
