Rome_August 28, 29 and 30 are spent in Rome visiting places. Sister Keerthana as directed by Cardinal Clemis Bava guided us to see the places. Mar Theodosius and Rev. Feno M. Thomas arrived by noon from Switzerland. Time was taken after lunch to visit the Vatican square and the St Peter’s Cathedral.

The tomb of St Peter, the seat (chair ) of St. Peter and the alter where the Pope celebrates the Eucharist are the significant places. There are other altars and chapels within the complex with lots of paintings. The painting reminding the baptism of Jesus is an Altar.

Another is the one carrying La Pieta, reminding the crucifixion of Jesus . The Jubilee door that opens once in 25 years is also seen. On 28th evening, we visited the ruins of the Roman empire and the present magnificent building with sculpture and paintings.

Then we moved on to see the Colossium where early Christians were tortured, burnt and thrown before the wild animals by the Roman emperor. It was a sport on those days.
