Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa visited Immanuel Marthoma Church, Virginia on 27th Nov 2011. During the Episcopal visit, First Communion Service for 6 youths was also arranged. The Holy Qurbana was in the evening 5.30 pm. Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Tirumeni lead the Holy Qurbana.
Rev. Dr. Joe Joseph Kuruvila, youth chaplain of South East Region, delivered the message. Mast. Ben Charles, Tim Cyrus, Vijay Kuruvilla, Vivek Kuruvilla , Kumari Joann Joseph and Nithya John received their first communion from the Bishop. Asish, Minesh, Rev. Dr. Joe Joseph Kuruvilla and the Vicar Rev. Roy Geevarghese assisted in the Holy Qurbana.
After the First Communion service, there was a public meeting under the leadership of Tirumeni. Mr. Rajan M. Thomas welcomed the participants. Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa issued certificates for those who successfully completed first communion classes and gave felicitation cards to the First Communicants. Rev. Roy
Geevarghese (Vicar), felicitated and the Parish Sunday School presented Bible to the first Communicants. First communicants celebrated the occasion by cutting the cake with the Bishop. Tirumeni discussed the Diocesan and church matters with the parish members. Registration campaign of Family Conference 2012 was also done there. Dr. Mathew T. Thomas, Diocesan Council member gave leadership for the registration campaign. With prayer, Benediction and Kaimuth, the Episcopal Visit ended at 7.30 PM. Diocesan Episcopa found time to meet the Kaisthana Samithy members. Parents of First Communicants arranged a dinner fellowship for all parishioners with the Diocesan Bishop. Episcopal Visit was an empowering and enriching experience for the Virginia Immanuel Mar Thoma Parish.
