Salem Mar Thoma Church, NY Ground Breaking Ceremony

The Salem Mar Thoma Church, Eastern Long Island purchased a land in Islip, NY and the ground breaking was held on April 1, 2012 by the diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius.

Many priests from the nearby churches were present, as well as guests from the neighboring area.

The youths of the Church blessed the occasion with scripture reading and singing hymns. Following the groundbreaking and the blessing of the foundation stone, the public meeting took place. The vicar, Rev. Varghese Mathai, gave the welcome speech, followed by the felicitation of the diocesan Bishop, diocesan treasurer and the special guests. The vote of thanks was given by the assembly member, Mr. John Thomas. Rev. Biju P. Simon, North East Youth Chaplain
gave the closing prayer and Thirumeni gave the benediction.
