Report on the visit to Rajkot MTC

Mar Theodosius, the Diocesan Episcopa of the Mumbai diocese, came to Rajkot by road from Jamnagar on Saturday December 17th, 4. 30 p. m.  Rev. Suby Mathew Medayil who is ministering to the parishes in Rajkot and Bhavanagar, along with the office bearers of the Church, welcomed Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius on his arrival. Tea was served for all and the members took time to converse with their new Diocesan Episcopa. They warmly welcomed the Episcopal visit to their parish after four years. Mar Theodosius stayed in the parsonage and the parishioners served food there.

 

Sunday December 18 was a day of rejoicing for the Mar Thoma Parish in Rajkot. Pandal (Shamiyana ) was made to receive all members and friends , coming to attend the service. The parish is worshipping in an Anglican Church for decades and the space inside is not enough to contain all the present members. The place of worship was full even 30 mts before the service. Mar Theodosius celebrated the Holy Qurbana and blessed 13 First Communicants. He spoke about the identity of a Christian and the divine mission in the light of the life of John the Baptist.

 

There was a meeting of welcome after the HQ and the announcements. Mar Theodosius spoke about the mission and ministry of the Mumbai diocese and explained the ministries carried out by Nav Jeevan and Navodaya.  There was a fellowship lunch after the kaimuthu and that gave time for the members to meet Bishop Mar Theodosius. The visit was a blessing.
