The Clergy of Bombay Centre, New Bombay Centre and Kalyan Centre met as a region for a ‘one day conference ‘ at the Mar Thoma Parish, Nallasopara on Sept 06,2016 at 8.30am. The day started with a Holy Communion service with the members of the parish.
In the presence of the Diocesan bishop, Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius and all the clergy, Rev. Thomas K. Mathew, Vicar of Mar Thoma parish, Thana, celebrated the Holy Qurbana. Men and women, including children in the hostel there attended the service. The sermon was given by Mrs. Slevi Johnson, wife of Rev. K. P. Johnson, during the service. There was a brief meeting with the members of the parish, soon after the service where the 15 children of the hostel presented an action song. All those who were present received Kaimuthu and joined for the Break Fast Fellowship.
The Mumbai Regional clergy then met for a meeting at 11am. There were two Bible Studies presented by Rev. Sabu Koshy and Rev. Saju chacko. The presentations were thoroughly discussed, particularly the place of women in the church. Matters regarding the Annual clergy Conference, Diocesan Fund Collection and parish concerns were taken up and the meeting went up to 1.00 in the noon time. The Diocesan Episcopa planted a tree in the church premise as a part of the Going Green programme of the Diocese. Lunch was served for all.
Rev. Paul Jacob made all necessary arrangements with the help of the parishioners. Rev Abraham Varghese and Rev Saju Chacko took time to thank everyone present and for all the arrangements. Mar Theodosius took time to interact with the parishioners and later to visit the hostel. The day was a blessed occasion for all to meet and praise God.
