Episcopal Visit to the St. John’s Mar Thoma Parish, Kuwait

The Diocesan Episcopa, Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, visited the Kuwait St. John’s Parish on Thursday August 18, 2016. There was a Holy Qurbana service organized for the members at7.30 p m. Rev. Sunil John serves as the present Vicar.

There were10 first communicants on the day. A dedication service was held for them and they were blessed. Mar Theodosius spoke on the Holy Qurbana basing his thoughts on the Scripture portion found in the Gospel of St. Luke 22: 14_20. He compared the Last supper with the Passover festival and highlighted the word of Jesus, ‘ Do this in remembering of me until I come.

After the holy Qurbana service, Mar Theodosius spoke about the ministries of the Mumbai Diocese through Navjeevan,  Navodaya  and Mission programmes. He highlighted the work through the various centres among the children and how about 290 children are benefits in their growth to selfhood. Navajeevan is working for the last 22 years and caters to the Rehabilitation of women as well. He exhorted the members of the parish to participate whole heartedly in the diocesan fund collection in the parish in the month of January.
