Episcopal Visit to the Mar Thoma Chuch, Pimpri

The Episcopal Visit to the Mar Thoma Chuch, Pimpri started on Friday, with a visit to Kamseth in Lonawallah where the Vicar and his wife are working in the St Thomas School , which presently has classes up to standard IV. After reviewing the construction that is going on for the School at the premises and taking rest, the Diocesan Episcopa went to the Church for the evening worship. The office bearers of the Parish came and met the Bishop before the Service.

The holy Qurbana started at 7pm with the opening song and the reading of the two lessons. The parish has a good and strong choir and they helped with music and songs during the Service. After the prayers for the Thanksgiving (birthday and Wedding Anniversary ), Dr Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa spoke from the Gospel of Mathew 5:14-16 . The sermon was on ‘ Christian Witness among the other faith Communities in the world ‘.

About 200 members took part in the Holy Qurbana. After the announcement, there was the kaimuthu service. The Diocesan Episcopa took time to meet with the members of the Parish and particularly the members of the Parish executive committee.

On the following day there was a Clergy meeting of the Centre which started at 10am. The Vicar of the Nasik MTC gave the devotional talk. The meeting had the opportunity to listen to the Rev George Varghese (Sr ), at present the Director of the counselling and guidance Centre , Ernakulam, who came to his former Parish Kirkee MTC for the Parish Convention. He spoke on the ‘ Personality Analysis’ and it was useful to all the achens and their family members. The Diocesan Episcopa discussed the matters and concerns of the Pune Centre and summed up, speaking on the pastoral ministry as, Breaking the Word, Breaking the Bread and Breaking the Self.

In the evening, there was a wedding in the Parish at Pimpri. The Diocesan Episcopa took time to visit the school run by the MTC Visranthavadi and dedicated the new class rooms. After all these events, Bishop Theodosius returned to Vashi, the Mar Thoma Centre at about 7pm.
