The Episcopal visit to Ambernath West Mar Thoma Parish was on the evening of Sunday November 20, 2016.
Rev Geo K Mathew, the Vicar, with the office bearers of the parish, welcomed the Diocesan Episcopa at 4.30 pm. The service began after the Thooyaba service at 5pm. The choir sang melodious songs and the members read the lessons. Mar Theodosius spoke on the significance of the Advent Season. He urged the members to discern the will and purpose of God for each life and commit the God – given life for that cause.
Members came in large number to participate in the Holy Qurbana. The offertory collected was given for the ‘ Save a Heart ‘ program of the diocese. The various announcements were made at the end of the Communion service. Prizes were distributed to the winners in the parish.
After the announcements, the Vicar welcomed the Diocesan Episcopa as he was visiting the parish for the first time. The bishop responded to it with thanks and reminded the parish and the organizations to work together in making the Statements of Accounts to the satisfaction of the various Departments of the Government. The service came to a close with the Kaimuthu Service at 7 pm. The Diocesan Bishop took time to meet people and to listen to them.
