Ecumenical Christmas in Seattle

The young family fellowship of the Mar Thoma parish Greater Seattle organized an Ecumenical Fellowship for all the Christian denominations of India origin at the Mar Thoma Church on Friday December 2, 2011. They are planning to have more meetings in 2012 and some programmes where joint social action is possible.

The Ecumenical Christmas programme started with Prayer and Rev. Binu Varghese welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Thomas Korah of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church and Rev. Roy A. Thomas, Student in Seattle were present apart from the Vicar and Diocesan Episcopa. Christmas Carols were sung by various church denominations and gifted persons.

There were musical recital by children and a group Christmas presentation by young adults

Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa gave the message and spoke on God’s incarnation ministry in Jesus Christ. Drawing the significance of Ecumenical living and action, Mar Theodosius Episcopa spoke how the ministry of incarnation is to be meaningfully done by the Churches in the given context.
Rev. Fr. Thomas Korah gave words of felicitation. Mr. Boney Mathew of the Mar Thoma Church gave the vote of thanks and Rev. Roy A. Thomas offered the closing prayer. After benediction the Christmas Father distributed candies to the children and all participated in a fellowship dinner.
