The Mumbai Diocesan Teenager’s Conference was organized by the Sunday school Samajam – Mumbai Diocese from 27th to 29th May, 2016 at Vapi MTC. This Year the Conference was hosted by the Gujarat Centre. The Accommodation for the participants was arranged at the St. Thomas English Medium School. 230 students from various parishes of the Diocese attended the Conference. The theme of the Conference was Jesus – The Way. The Conference was started with the opening worship led by Gujarat Center. The Diocesan Bishop and President of Mumbai Diocesan Sunday school Samajam Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa inaugurated the conference.
Various sessions were led by Rev. Biju George, Youth Chaplain, Chennai; Rev. Mathews George, Youth Chaplain, Mumbai and Rev. Sunil George Mathew, Goa. The theme presentation as choreography presented by Vapi youths added more colors to the programme.
The Rev. Biju George, Youth Chaplain, Chennai lead 3 main talks. In his 1st Talk Achen talked on the topic “Jesus the Way to the Father” and 2nd talk was on “Jesus the way to one Another” and 3rd talk on “Jesus the way to Yourself” respectively. Rev. Mathews George, Youth Chaplain, Mumbai, lead vibrant singing session and also another session regarding know your world. In that session he tried to explain Media and Christ.
Rev. Sunil George Mathew, Goa took Bible Study and led the dedication session, which was the culmination of the camp. The dedication session was a touching and spirit filled experience, which enabled many of our students to dedicate their life for Christ. Dr. Bina Abraham, Baroda took a session on personality development, which helped the teens to find their identity in Christ. On Saturday all the participants of the conference were taken for a picnic to Nakshatra Garden, Silvassa.
The Conference was concluded on the 29th May, 2016, beginning with the Holy Communion celebrated by our Diocesan Bishop at Vapi MTC, in which the members of the Vapi Mar Thoma church also participated. The conference came to a close with luncheon fellowship.
