A group of five enthusiastic bike riders was received by the Parish members at the Kalamasherry St. Thomas Church ground. Lunch was served there which was under the charge of the Parish Sevika Sangam. A welcome session was arranged by the youths of the Parish. From here they started their ride in Ernakualm area and headed towards the Jerusalem Marthoma Parish, Elamkulam through the busy roads of Edapally and Kaloor. They were accompanied by the Parish Priests and the youths of Ernakulam on their bikes.After a ride of about an hour they were received at the Elamkulam Parish on a wide note. The riders were welcomed with garlands and a Sinkarimelam very typical of the culture at Kerala.Dr. P.M Thomas (M. P.) was the Chief Guest at the function, which was witnessed by about 175 members from different Parishes within Ernakulam. The Diocesan representatives also made their presence. The 5 riders by nam32nd Mr. Philix Ben Abraham shared their experiences which shot a spirit of motivation through the hearts of those gathered.
Felicitations were extended by the vicar and the Chief Guest. The physical arrangements to the whole event were done by the Elamkulam Parish team. Tea and snacks were arranged and the evening proved to be a blessing. The challenge taken up by these five men to spread the Message ‘Save the Girl Child, Stop Human Trafficking‘ thus helped to spread awareness through the urban air of Ernakulam. This bike rally was arranged by the Navajeevan Center of the Mumbai Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church.
