A visit to George Fox University was arranged during the Episcopal Visit of Mar Theodosius to the Pacific
coast on the last week of June 2011.
Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, the Diocesan Bishop of the Mar Thoma Church in North America met the President Dr. Robin E. Baker of the George Fox University on Friday, June 24 accompanied by Rev. Binu Varghese, Seattle and Mr. Mathews Manaloor, Portland.
George Fox University is the only Christian University in the Pacific Northwest classified as a first-tier national university by U. S. News and World Report. It has an enrolment of 3, 484 with a Faculty of 379.
It has alumni of 21, 241 residing in 47 countries. More than 40 majors, 45 minors and 6 pre-programmes are offered at the University now.
The university houses George Fox Evangelical Seminary offering courses in graduate and post graduate levels. It has the Residential campus at New berg 414 N. Meridian St and Teaching Centres in Portland,Salem, Redmond and Boise.
The meeting with the President Robin Baker opened a learning experience about the Church and the Seminary. The conversation was centered around Theological education, use of the Holy Bible and Relevant Ministry in a digital world. Dr. Robin Baker is hoping to visit India in the month of July 2011.
