2011 Youth Fellowship Choir Festival

New York Youth Fellowships celebrated Christmas with Carols
New York: The Northeast Regional Youth Fellowship conducted its annual Christmas Choir Festival on December 31st
, 2011. St. Andrew’s Mar Thoma Church Youth Fellowship, Yonkers, NY hosted this event for the region. Every participant Youth fellowship choir sang carols including a mandatory song “What Child is this”.

Rev. Joseph Johnny gave the Christmas message. In his message he exhorted the young people to embrace child Jesus. Even though baby Jesus was a helpless child, this child gives hope to many in this world. He reminded that when we become helpless at certain times in our lives, with Christ we can turn our situation to be hopeful. Rev. Benchamin George and Rev. Biju P. Simon attended this event.

St. Thomas MTC Youth Fellowship choir received first place, St. Andrews Mar Thoma Church Youth Fellowship choir received second place and St. James Mar Thoma Church Youth Fellowship choir the third. Regional committee member Mr. Blessen Kurien welcomed everyone and Mr. Binu Daniel, Vice President of the North East Region Youth Fellowship expressed vote of thanks to all those who attended. The program ended with prayer and benediction.
