Maramon Convention – 2018

The 123^rd session of the Maramon Convention was held on the Pamba sand bed near Maramon on February 11-18. The Metropolitan Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma inaugurated the convention. The Rt. Rev. Peter David Eaton, Rev. Dr. Francis Sunderaraj, Rev. Dr. Rajkumar Ramachandran and Rev. Dr. Vinod Victor were the main speakers along with the Bishops. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa presided over the meetings on Tuesday evening and Thursday morning sessions. The Saturday evening meditation was also led by Bishop Theodosius. The other Bishops of the church took turns either to preside it to speak at least in one of the sessions.

Creating history, this year, the Yuvavedi of the Maramon Convention invited members from the Transgender community to speak on Thursday, February 15, 2018. This was in connection with the Navodaya Movement of the Church focusing on the ministry among the Trans genders. As usual, there was a stall for the Mumbai Diocese at the sand bed and a stall for Navodaya on the side of the road leading to Maramon. A good number of members from the Mumbai Diocese attended the various meetings, including the Homeland Fellowship on Tuesday, February 13. The lady members of the Diocese participated in the inauguration of the centenary year of Mar Thoma Suvishesha Sevika Sangham.
