Episcopal Visit to the St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Church, Panvel

The St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Church, Panvel completed her 10 years of existence. The Parish had one year celebration to mark their growth. The Diocesan Episcopa, Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, visited the parish on Sunday June 04, 2017 and celebrated the Holy Qurbana at 8.30 am assisted by the present and former Vicars, Lay leaders and the Parish Choir.Mar Theodosius spoke on the functions of the Holy Spirit in the life of the persons and the parish. The First Communicants were blessed. The Episcopal Visit offertory was collected for the ‘Save a Heart’ programme of the Diocese. A good number of members and guests participated in the Qurbana.The parish day function was conducted after the worship service. The Vicar, Rev Daniel Mathew, welcomed the gathering. The Report of the parish and that of the one year celebration were presented. The senior members were honoured.  Mar Theodosius gave the Main Message on how the parish can be relevant to our times. The Vicars of the Sister churches felicitated the parish by their messages.The presence of the former Vicar, Rev Jinu Eapen Kurian was quite refreshing to all parishioners. The programme concluded with Kaimuthu Service when the Parish Choir sang the Marathi song of Thanksgiving.There was a fellowship lunch for all the people present. The day was a joyous and blessed day for all.
