Visit to the Mar Thoma Church – Ruvi, Oman.
The Episcopal Synod annexed two parishes in the Gulf Region to the Diocese of Mumbai. The first episcopal visit to these parishes by the Diocesan Episcopa, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, took place during the Holy Week of April 2017.
Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius landed Muscat on the evening of Wednesday April 12th and was welcomed by the Vicars and members of the parishes there. He stayed in the Mar Thoma centre where Rev. Jackson Joseph is also housed. Both Jackson Joseph achen and Joe Mathew Achen assisted in all the services.
The Mar Thoma Church of Oman had the Maundy Thursday Service And Holy Qurbana at 8.15 pm. It was well attended and a large number of members participated in the Holy Qurbana. The Good Friday Service started at 6 am and went up to 10 am. On both the services, Mar Theodosius spoke from the Word of God. After the long service on Good Friday, all present participated in sharing the Kanji that was prepared. The members from near and far also took time to meet the Bishop at the Mar Thoma Centre.
