Episcopal Visit to the Trinity Mar Thoma Church, Saki Naka

May 07, 2017 marked the Episcopal Visit of the present Diocesan Episcopa Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, Mumbai Diocese. This is the second episcopal visit to the parish since Mar Theodosius joined the Diocese in April 2016. He completed one round of visit to all the parishes and institutions in the diocese within an year.

 

 

Mar Theodosius celebrated Holy Qurbana in the Church at 09 am with the assistance of the Vicar, Rev. Justin K Mathew. He spoke from the Gospel of St. Luke based on the journey of the two to Emmaus. The passage tells us that if our journey of life is to be meaningful, it should be a journey with Jesus, with proper understanding of the Scripture and in obedience to God with all humility.

 

After the general announcements, Mar Theodosius addressed the members and spoke in general about the parish administration. He urged the members to call the AGM by May itself. He then took time to explain the Diocesan Programmes and projects and asked the members to support all the activities whole heartedly. He reminded the parish the significance of Diocesan Development Fund ( DDF) and Suvisesha Nidhi collections that are held in the month of August and November.

 

The Kaimuthu Service was followed by a fellowship of all the gathered over a cup of coffee and refreshments. The members with special needs met the bishop for prayer.
