Mission fields of Raighar Region

The Diocesan Bishop of the Mumbai Diocese , Dr Geevarghese Mar Theodosius , visited the mission fields of Raighar region on Thursday, March 09, 2017 at 10 am along with the Diocesan Missionary Rev K C Chacko. All the four evangelists in the region took interest to bring the believers together at Pen Mission field supported by the Mar Thoma Parish at Panvel. The Vicar , Jinu Eapen Kurian and some members of the parish came to the field to welcome every one. The other supporting parishes headed by the vicars , Rev Thomas K Mathew Thana , Rev John George St John’s Mira Bhayander , Rev K Mathew Waghle Estate also came with the members to attend the function.The meeting started with prayer and singing at 10 am. The guests were given a warm welcome. The Missionary , Rev K C Chacko led the worship and then introduced the evangelists M/s Mahesh, Parasuram and Arjun Ghav . A brief report on the activities in the Mission fields was said by the Missionary and the Evangelists. The Sunday School Children performed some action songs and a member witnessed his faith in Jesus Christ.Mar Theodosius addressed the gathering with greetings from the Diocese and also giving a message based on St Mark 2: 1- 12. He expressed his desire that the Mission will purchase a plot of land where the believers and seekers can gather together for worship and Bible Study. The liturgy for Holy Qurbana in Marati will be made available soon and like wise the liturgy for other sacraments. He said that, if it is God’s will, the Mumbai Diocese will have about 20 Mar Thoma Congregations within an year. The members present received this with great joy.The Mar Thoma Parishes in Thana, Mira Road, Waghle Estate and Panvel will be supporting the mission activities in Neral, Khalapur, Kharjet and Pen stations respectively. The Gospel is communicated to the near by villages and in general, the response of the people are encouraging. The Rev Jinu Eapen Kurian expressed the Vote of thanks to all those who gathered for the day. Then the people spend some time for prayer. The Bishop pronounced the benediction. The people came forward to receive the blessings while all sang and danced when the songs Abare, Abare….and Dhanyavad …with musical instruments gave them the rhythm. Some group photos were taken and all dispersed for Fellowship Meal by 1.00 pm. Individuals came forward asking for special prayers.The meeting was a rejuvenating experience and we praise God for His abundant blessings and wonderful guidance.
