Daund Mission

Daund Mission of the Mumbai Diocese is sponsored by the Pune St. Peter’s Mar Thoma Parish since 2009. The Edavaka Mission of the parish takes special interest in the activity of the Mission.Currently Evangelist Ravindra P. Pathare along with his family is serving as an Evangelist in the field. Ravindra is an appointee of the Diocesan Mission Board. He is regularly visiting villages such as: Sonwadi, Khorwadi, Kurkumbh and other neighbouring villages. There are around 400 seekers currently in six villages. Apart from the regular visits, special ministries such as VBS, Christmas programmes, Medical camp etc. are being organized by the Parish in the field. The two important requirements of the Mission are a Mission House and a place of worship for the believers to gather.On March 08, 2017 5:00 pm, The Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius along with a team of 13 Edvaka Mission Members from Pune St. Peter’s Parish, visited the field. Rev. K. C. Chacko, Diocesan Missionary and Rev. Shibu P. Varghese, Sponsoring Parish Vicar accompanied Thirumeni.On account of the Diocesan Episcopa’s visit, a special programme was arranged by the believers at Sonwadi village. Programme started with a brief worship session in Marathi, followed by the welcome of the Diocesan Bishops and other guests. The children presented some songs and dance. Thereafter, Diocesan Episcopa exhorted the believers and Mr. Mahesh translated the same in Marathi. Two believers shared their testimonies. Children from various fields exhibited their talents. The meeting was concluded at 7:00 p,m with the prayer and benediction of the Diocesan Bishop. Before Thirumeni’s departure from field, believers came forward to seek his blessing and prayer. Altogether, 100 people from various villages attended the gathering. Thirumeni has instructed the parish to conduct more focused work in the field and procure a place for the believers.
