Episcopal Visit to Vasai St Thomas MTC
The St. Thomas Mar Thoma church, Vasai, began its journey to the new year (2017) with the presence of the Diocesan Episcopa Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius on January 1st, 2017. Thirumeni lead the Holy Qurbana. During the Holy Communion service Tirumeni dedicated 7 first communicants. They were welcomed by the congregation. Parish day celebration followed the Holy Communion service.
In his presidential address Tirumeni shared the following points:
- Renew our understanding about God
- Revisit our covenant
- Review our responsibility for all creation.
The message was so encouraging for the congregation to begin the new year. Thirumeni also inspired the congregation to live & witness the Lord where God has placed them. During the Parish day celebration the SSC/ HSC students were honoured by giving them trophy. The rolling trophies were handed over to the first and second winners of the Sunday Gospel bible portion quiz winners.
Thirumeni also visited the new church building and was satisfied with its progress. In the new building Thirumeni offered prayer along with committee members.
A community lunch was prepared for all. Around 475 people attended the service. We also acknowledge the presence of Rev. John Geevarghese of Malad parish and the Diocesan trustee Mr. T. K. Achenkunj.
