Episcopal Visit to the St. John’s Mar Thoma Parish, Wagle Estate

Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, the Diocesan Bishop of the Mumbai Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church visited the St. John’s Mar Thoma Church, Wagle Estate on September 4, 2016.

The programmes of the day started with the Holy Qurbana by Tirumeni at 7. 45 a.m., in which the Bishop dedicated two first communicants. After the Holy Communion, the parish has arranged a special programme to welcome their new Diocesan Epsicopa. In his speech Tirumeni urged the parishioners to respond to the needs of the community and actively participate in the programmes of the Diocese. Food coupon for ‘Onam Sadhya” and fund raising coupon for “Sneha Sadanam” (Home for Homeless Project) were inaugurated by Tirumeni on that occasion. Top scorers of SCS and HSC exams were honoured by giving special awards and prizes. As a part of ‘Going Green project’, His Grace planted a coconut sapling in the parish premise. The St. John’s Mar Thoma parish, Wagle Estate donated IRs. 24, 600/- towards the “Save a Heart Project”. The Episcopal visit was a blessed experience to the entire parishioners.
