Navjeevan Centre Advocacy Programme – Bike Rally
The Navajeevan Center of the Mar Thoma Church with its base at Kapri village in Maharashtra works to save the children of sex-workers. The children we get through the child welfare board are mostly girls. This center has also helped to rescue the victims and mothers. There are about 150 children in the Navajeevan Center. We are working for more than 20 years and some children who grew up in this center are now married and settled.
The Navajeevan Center has arranged a Bike Rally on 06th August 2016 from 7 a.m to 8 a.m. It was started from City Bank Junction and ended at the Municipal HQ Belapur. There were 20 Bike Riders from different Parts of Mumbai and Youths from Mar Thoma Parishes, Mumbai. The rally was started by the blessing of Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa at City Bank Junction. After a brief introduction, Thirumeni flagged off the rally and the ride completed within one hour. Rev. Gigy Thomas, Corporator Mr. Sabu Daniel and members from Vashi Mar Thoma Church were present. At the finishing point, Mr. Sabu Daniel addressed the bike riders and concluded the programme. Banners, Placards, Tea and snacks were served by the Nerul Mar Thoma Parish. Rev. Benu John was also attended in the concluding session. It was a wonderful programme done by Navjeevan and the total programme has covered by Kairali Television Channel.
