Going Green Project

On December 9, 1989, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius, along with Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius and Rt. Rev. Dr. Euyakim Mar Coorilos were consecrated as bishops of the Mar Thoma Church. On December 9, 2014, they will be celebrating their Episcopal Silver Jubilee of their consecration. In honor of Theodosius Thirumeni accomplishing this milestone, the Diocese of North America and Europe has undertaken an initiative known as the “Going Green Project” since January 1, 2014. The Going Green Project has encouraged the parishes within the Diocese to plant trees, come up with innovative ideas to be more eco-friendly, and take on the call of God to take care of the Earth. With this understanding, the diocese created a slideshow recalling the various tree planting that took place throughout the diocese, as well as, the vegetable gardens of some of our clergy.
