Oklahoma Mar Thoma Church

The Mar Thoma Church of Oklahoma was honored to have our Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius visit our parish from Friday, June 1st to Monday, June 4th. During this time His Grace visited several members of the church who were suffering from various medical problems. Their Diocesan Bishop’s encouragement and prayers uplifted the families enduring medical problems.
Also during this time, His Grace was able to conduct a wedding for a couple from the Oklahoma Church. When the couple discovered that their Diocesan Bishop would be in the area during the time of their marriage ceremony, they invited His Grace to be the chief celebrant of the wedding service. Mar Theodosius’ presence was a blessing not only for the couple and their families, but for all those who attended the service.

During the Sunday Service, our bishop was able to conduct a First Communion Service for six youths. Theodosius Metran delivered an inspiring message and after the service, when His Grace was speaking to the whole church, the congregation was exhorted to be involved in helping the local community through mission work. The congregation was also reminded of the need to invite the local community to participate in our worship services.

The members of the Mar Thoma Church of Oklahoma were blessed and grateful to have their Diocesan Bishop spend so much time with them, celebrating sacraments with them, and teaching them the word of God
