Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church

Episcopal visit of Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius Episcopa to Philadelphia Mar Thoma Church for 2012 was held on Sunday April, 08. Members of Philadelphia MTC were blessed with the presence of our Diocesan Episcopa Thirumeni in the parish on Easter Sunday. Thirumeni led the Easter Service and celebrated Holy Communion. Thirumeni gave a thought provoking sermon on Easter. Secretary Mr. Thomas Joy welcomed Thirumeni to the parish.

After the service, a public meeting was held. Accountant Vinu George welcomed Thirumeni and requested Thirumeni to accept the checks as a mark to inaugurate receiving advertisements for the Parish Directory. Thirumeni accepted checks on behalf of the parish from Mr. Regi Abraham and Mr. Varghese Abraham. Joveline Joe and Sheeba Kuruvilla presented a brief report on their participation in the Native American Mission Project. Thirumeni shared his concerns about the parish and appreciated the involvement of Youths in worship service. The Public meeting ended with Kaimuthu.

The Executive committee got an opportunity to share with Thirumeni our Parish and Diocesan matters and Thirumeni gave appropriate feedback.
A good number of parishioners participated in the service. The parish expressed sincere thanks to Thirumeni for the Episcopal visit.
