New Jersey Mar Thoma Church

The Diocesan Episcopa, Rt. Rev. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Theodosius visited the New Jersey Mar Thoma Church, Randolph on April 5-6, 2012.

On Maundy Thursday, the vicar, Rev. Jose T. Abraham welcomed the Diocesan Bishop and led the Maundy Thursday service. Thirumeni celebrated Holy Qurbana service at 7:00PM where His Grace gave the meditation based on the gospel portion of Matthew 26:17-30. He spoke on the significance of the Passover meal Jesus had with His disciples which is today celebrated as Holy Qurbana.

His Grace also conducted the Good Friday services on Friday Morning, where he reminded us of the self-emptying and sacrificial life of Christ expressed on the cross. The first two parts of the services were in Malayalam and the third in English assisted by the youth members of the growing generation.

At the end of the service, Thirumeni spoke to the congregation and informed them that the diocese has produced Holy Week liturgy with PowerPoint presentation from March 2012 onwards. He appreciated the parish for remitting all dues on time to the diocese and the church. He expressed the gratitude of the diocese to the vicar for his service in USA for the last three years and wished him well as he is going on transfer on the last week of April.
